The pandemic has not stopped us from continuing to offer executive travel in Loughborough, but we have taken a number of steps to make sure every ride is as safe as possible.
The shock news that Leicester would have a renewed lockdown
after a spike in coronavirus cases will no doubt have raised concerns about the situation in the rest of the county.
As it happens, the area being locked down extends beyond the city boundaries into several contiguous suburbs, such as Birstall to the north, or Oadby and Wigston to the south-east. However, it does not stretch beyond and certainly does not go as far as Loughborough, where we are based.
In that respect, our operations will carry on as normal. Indeed, we have taken such care to ensure the maximum possible levels of biosecurity for our staff and customers that we are already taking the sort of cautions that are now being deemed appropriate for Leicester.
What we are doing to maintain your safety
The list of steps we have taken includes:
- We test our drivers every day to make sure they are virus free
- Both drivers and passengers will be equipped with face masks
- All customers ride in the back
- We have removed newspapers and sweets from the back to prevent them harbouring germs, while water bottles are sanitised
- Vehicles are sanitised before every journey
- We have installed screens between passengers and drivers
- When a driver handles your luggage, it is then sanitised to prevent any contamination
- The driver will avoid physical contact, bowing to you rather than shaking your hand
This may sound like a long list of extremely cautious steps, but we believe each of them is reasonable and will help reduce the risk of infection to an absolute minimum.
Making sure your executive travel can continue
In the meantime, we are gearing up to deal with the easing of lockdown in other parts of the Midlands. We know some people will want a taxi to travel overseas for work reasons, with the establishment of ‘air bridges’ meaning Britons can get on a plane to various countries.
